Polyn, Carmarthenshire food review.

Polyn means Pole in Welsh and i'm not gonna lie, this was the best pole, i've ever had.

From the outside, it looks like an old man's local pub and from the inside, it's a warm, friendly with out the OOT of a high end restaurant ( as in tablecloths, pouring wine, two kissed on departure kinda place) more of a rustic farmhouse vibe, with half tiled half wooden floors, rustic artwork of fish and forks on the walls. It reminded me of home, the farmhouse kitchen, rustic, stripped back but with hearty meals, made with love, all by hand by my mum and gran.

Llio at Y Polyn

You could smell the passion as you walked in and there's nothing that gets my cockles warm than a floor to celing shelf of whiskey . There was more wine on this menu than the Calais wine superstore. This was a great start.

Y Polyn, 2 miles from @walesbotanic

* a must visit place to walk off your lunch and enjoy the beautiful gardens*

It sits on a windy corner between the county of Carmarthen and the boutique town of Llandeilo.

As the family of Polyn said ' What you will find here is beautiful produce cooked simply and with respect. Saltmarsh lamb, Welsh beef and free range, rare breed pork are highlights of the well-balanced menu' and all i can say is Amen and when can i book a table for next time.

* They have a cracking lunchtime deal.

3 courses for £24 *
